Padaung Woman Weaving, Inle Lake, Myanmar
Myanmar-Inle-Lake-Chris-Fischer-6229.jpg
A young Padaung "long-necked" woman weaving in a shop on Inle Lake. Around the age of five the first brass coils are applied, and as the girls grow older, longer coils are added. The weight of the brass presses down the collar bone and compresses the rib cage, which gives the appearance of a very long neck.
